This cam seal when leak, the engine oil will go to the base of the distributor and go through the shaft bushing and run along the shaft up to the rotor and cap.

Run a PCV valve, check that it is working properly, and make sure there is a vent. A band of oil or light grease, even rust is common about half way up the side of the cap.

And that is one on the hardest places to seal at the rear of the intake manifold. But if it is really coming out where the distributor mounts do as monkey boy says.

It can seep past the shaft seal that seals the shaft to the housing and oil will drip from between the distributor base and the edge of the cap. Mine was a slow leak inside the distributor that I cleaned out from time to time. Apparently no electronics were damaged from oil soak as it is still running ok.
